The individual in this role takes ownership of issues and proactively works to provide positive member experiences, educate, and support employees, improve processes, and ensure accuracy based on policies and regulations.Job DescriptionAn effective Senior Deposit Operations Specialist must be able to perform each job duty successfully.Proactively take ownership of issues and work closely with front-line employees and members to through resolution, delivering a high-quality member experience.Research and resolve complex deposit issues, including questions regarding IRA's, Trusts, special accounts, Power of Attorney, notary, Medallion Guarantor, Chex systems, deceased member accounts, tax corrections and other related needs.Review and interpret trusts, court ordered documents, and other legal documents to ensure accurate membership eligibility and account ownership.Perform timely and accurate processing of deceased member accounts, including but not limited to: thorough account review, account coding, records research, blocking cards, updating member memos, updating account access, and other tasks as necessary. Proactively follow-up with representatives of the deceased member as needed. Regularly audit and review trust, POA, IRA and other documentation to verify accuracy and adherence to regulations and organizational policies.Evaluate existing processes and procedures and provide recommendations for improvement of member and employee interactions with the Deposit Operations team, products and services.Work with leadership to establish, update, and maintain policies, procedures, and other documentation essential to deposit operations and the credit union.Be accountable to goals and performance standards established by the organization and management.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.ExperienceFive years of financial industry or related experience.EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredLicenses, Certificates, Registrationsn/aComputer/Office Equipment SkillsIntermediate level skill for Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Experience working with Teams, WebEx, Zoom, etc.Experience with core banking systems (Symitar) preferred.Language SkillsMust have the ability to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in written and oral form.Other Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced professional communication skills (professional phone etiquette, clearly articulate information to others, quality interaction both in person and over the phone).Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit union policy and procedures and deposit products regulation.Understanding of IRS and guidelines as it pertains to Deposit Operations products.Understanding of the banking and NCUA regulations, as they pertain to Deposit Operations products.Meet productivity and service standard measurements in a work-from-home environment.Highly skilled at training and coaching others on products and services of the credit union.Physical Abilities/ Working ConditionsPhysical DemandsAbility to sit, talk, and hear consistently.Ability to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or reach occasionally.Vision RequirementsClose vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).Weight Lifted or Force ExertedAbility to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally may need to lift up to 50 pounds.EnvironmentalAbility to work from home with internet access in a quiet area free from disturbances. Position also requires ability to work at the corporate building when assigned.
