applications. Project Manager – Mechanical (HVAC) Location: North
Salt Lake, UT (Utah-local candidates only) Company Overview MJ

specializing in HVAC design-assist, fabrication, installation,
service, and maintenance for commercial, industrial, institutional,
and multi-family projects. MJ Mechanical partners closely with
owners, general contractors, and design teams to deliver
high-quality mechanical systems with a strong emphasis on safety,
collaboration, and long-term building performance. About the Role
MJ Mechanical is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a
strong background in mechanical / HVAC construction to lead
projects from pre-construction through close-out. This role blends
estimating acumen with hands-on field leadership and full ownership
of schedule, cost, quality, and client experience. The ideal
candidate is a hands-on Project Manager who understands how
mechanical projects are built, partners effectively with foremen
and superintendents, and takes personal accountability for
delivering profitable, well-executed work. Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical/HVAC projects from pre-construction through
close-out, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, within
budget, and to quality standards. Develop and manage project
budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and procurement strategies.
Perform takeoffs, review production rates, and support accurate
cost planning and execution. Coordinate closely with foremen,
superintendents, fabrication teams, subcontractors, and vendors to
drive field productivity and jobsite efficiency. Serve as the
primary point of contact for owners, general contractors,
architects, and engineers, maintaining clear communication and
strong working relationships. Manage RFIs, submittals, change
orders, purchase orders, pay applications, and overall project
documentation. Monitor job costs, margin performance, and schedule
progress; proactively identify and resolve issues before they
impact outcomes. Partner with accounting and operations to ensure
accurate WIP reporting, forecasting, and revenue recognition.
Conduct regular site visits and project meetings to maintain
alignment, quality, and safety compliance. Ensure all work complies
with contract requirements, building codes, safety regulations, and
company standards. Support project close-out, documentation, and
transition to service and warranty teams. Capture lessons learned
and contribute to continuous improvement of project execution
processes. Qualifications Required 5 years of project management
experience in mechanical / HVAC construction . Demonstrated
experience managing projects from pre-construction through
close-out. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and
mechanical construction methods. Proven experience with job
costing, production rates, and financial accountability. Ability to
read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts. Strong
communication, organization, and leadership skills. Utah-local
candidate with the ability to be onsite as required. Valid driver's
license. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management,
Engineering, or related field. Experience with design-build and
design-assist project delivery. Familiarity with sheet metal
fabrication coordination and controls integration. Proficiency with
construction/project management software (Procore, Viewpoint, Sage
300 CRE, CMiC, or similar). Preferred Certifications PMP (Project
Management Professional) OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
