to join our team as a Principal Engineer located in Salt Lake City,
UT . This position is in support of operations at the Salt Lake
City Facility which produces Inertial Navigation Systems and
related products primarily for the military. This position follows
projects through all manufacturing readiness level phases: concept
development, design, fabrication/assembly/test at lab level,
production environment demo, full production operations
implementation, sustainment/maintenance/ continuous improvement. It
is responsible for maintaining the designs (drawing packages) for a
portfolio of products which includes approval of all changes and
ownership of the Engineering Change process. This position provides
the Leadership/Management of Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE)
efforts from preparation of proposals to execution of the effort
with responsibility for cost, schedule, and performance to contract
requirements. It also provides management of Continuous Improvement
projects and resolution of technical issues in manufacturing. What
You’ll Get to Do: Responsible for managing technical projects
(planning & execution) including accountability for cost, schedule
& performance through all phases and execution of
transition-to-production activities Manage product line sustainment
activities including design maintenance (drawing packages),
obsolescence reviews, and incorporation of changes into
manufacturing Coordinate/lead multi-disciplined teams to solve
complex technical problems (design and/or manufacturing related) or
to make improvements to products or processes Support or lead
proposals to provide quotes to internal or external customers
Directly support various Program Managers and customers as the
technical focal point for Salt Lake City activity including program
risk Present at program reviews, often at the director level Basic
Qualifications for the Principal Engineer: Bachelors degree in a
related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work
experience; OR a Master's degree in a related STEM field with a
minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Broad based
engineering experience across multiple disciplines Experience
planning and executing complex technical projects with little or no
direction Experience presenting data and coordinating with senior
program and operations leadership Experience leading technical
teams The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level
Security Clearance US Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications
for the Principal Engineer: Experience using project management
tools and understanding of practices including tracking cost,
schedule, and performance Experience as a Control Account Manager
or with Earned Value Management Project Management Professional
(PMP) Certification Experience reviewing and interpreting technical
drawings and specifications Extensive experience planning and
managing technical projects Experience with Inertial systems,
Inertial sensors and related technology and have knowledge of
manufacturing Experience with assembly & test processes Experience

Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00 The above salary range
represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers
a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the
scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's
experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime,
shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base
pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions
as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees
in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long
Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety
of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and
disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid
time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business. The
