The Challenger School (a nonprofit organization) provides private education on its 27 campuses in five states: California, Idaho, Nevada, Texas, and Utah. We take pride in the responsibility of educating 10,000 students in preschool through eighth grade annually.

We are seeking an experienced Industrial-Organizational Psychologist to join our team in Sandy, Utah. You will assist in conducting workplace research studies, including organizational behavior, communication, group interactions, and employee engagement, in assessing and continuously improving organizational functioning and productivity. You should have experience in change management and have proven to influence stakeholders through communicating empirical evidence. In this role, you will work closely with our Management and Senior Leadership in ensuring stakeholder buy-in to adopt and implement evidence-based practices and policies effectively. Your efforts will be instrumental in assisting Challenger School's ongoing cultural transformation through its continuous improvement of programs and policies.


  • Design and implement feedback techniques, rating scales, and psychological tests used to assess skills, abilities, and interests for employee selection, evaluation, and development.
  • Run basic statistical analysis to identify issues to be addressed.
  • Demonstrate advanced communication skills by understanding different audiences' requirements, how to contextualize the obtained data, and customize information according to employee role.
  • Measure employee performance, productivity, and engagement through evidence-based methods, and ensure job competencies are linked to performance reviews through clear guidance on documentation of expected behaviors.
  • Observe and engage employees to obtain qualitative/quantitative data on job satisfaction through psychometric methods and analyze findings.
  • Study and report on the overall organizational behavior, effectiveness, and productivity, including the nature of workplace supervision and leadership, and advise management accordingly.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement through innovative ideas and propose feasible solutions supported by research.

    • MS in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or closely related field (required)
    • Capstone project, thesis, or dissertation is psychometric assessment (desired)
    • Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or related field (desired)

      Technical Skills:
      • Familiarity with data acquisition (e.g., Qualtrics, MTURK, Pollfish).
      • Psychometric assessments, data analysis, and reporting parameters.
      • Proficiency in implementing ADKAR, Kotter, or other change management models.
      • Working knowledge of SPSS, R, or SAS.

          Compensation and Benefits:
          • Salary range between $85,000-$138,000, commensurate with experience
