Roles & Responsibilities Monitor maternal and fetal status using AWHONN fetal monitoring standards and intervene promptly when trends change Provide hands-on labor support and assist with deliveries, ensuring safety and dignity for birthing people Perform neonatal stabilization and initial care in collaboration with the team, using NRP and STABLE principles Use clinical judgment to manage obstetric emergencies and escalate to appropriate resources when needed Document assessments, interventions and patient education accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatology and ancillary staff to create individualized care plans Educate patients and families on labor progress, newborn care and postpartum recovery in a compassionate manner Qualifications Active RN license (state of Utah) — must be eligible to submit Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (acute care/Labor & Delivery experience preferred) Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS (AHA), NRP, STABLE Comfortable and experienced charting in EPIC Ability to work night shifts and function effectively on a 12-hour schedule Strong teamwork, communication and crisis-management skills BSN not required — solid clinical experience in L&D will shine Education Nursing diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent; BSN not required Knowledge & Skills Fetal monitoring interpretation and intrapartum care Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization techniques Acute obstetric assessment and emergency response Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting and documentation Patient-centered education and family communication Prioritization and multitasking in a fast-paced L&D environment Benefits Guaranteed 36 hours per week so you know what to expect each pay period Comprehensive medical, dental & vision coverage to keep you and your family healthy Paid time off to recharge between assignments Licensure assistance & reimbursement to keep your credentials current 12-hour orientation to set you up for success on day one Travel reimbursement and housing support options for contract clinicians Referral bonus program — bring a friend and get rewarded A supportive multidisciplinary team that values your expertise in L&D Travel Perks: Explore West Valley, UT Explore the best of the Salt Lake Valley while on assignment: hit nearby trails in the Wasatch Range for hiking and mountain biking, enjoy world-class skiing at resorts like Snowbird and Alta in winter months, visit Temple Square and downtown Salt Lake City for museums, dining and live events, take a scenic drive to the Great Salt Lake or the Utah Olympic Park for year-round activities.
