Pay - $17.00 per hour DOE About the Inn at Snowbird Nestled in the Snowbird's pedestrian village, The Inn provides the comforts of home with a variety of lodging options. Snowbird's most intimate lodge offers an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, steam room and fitness facility. Accommodations sleep between 2 to 10 guests and range from single bedrooms to studios with loft and attached bedroom. Kitchens and fireplaces are available in most units. Other amenities at The Inn include equipment lockers, complimentary warm beverages, wireless internet, a business center, movies and games. Open year-round, the heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tub are accessed from Level 1. An exercise facility, steam room and changing areas are located on Level 2. The Inn units are individually owned. Owners have first priority in their unit and guests' requests are accommodated after owner reservations are filled. About Snowbird Snowbird is a world-renowned ski and summer resort just 6 miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Here, winter enthusiasts enjoy all types of mountain terrain to accommodate new and advanced skiers and snowboarders. The resort also features backcountry snow-cat and heli-skiing, snowmobile, and snowshoe tours. Off resort, there are 5 hotels, over 15 restaurants, a variety of swimming pools and hot tubs, all surrounded by spectacular granite peaks - making Snowbird a world-class destination. What You'll Do As a Full-Time, Year-Round - Inn at Snowbird Front Desk Supervisor under the direction of the hotel General Manager you will supervise the front desk staff to ensure high quality guest service, assists with special projects and coordinates with other departments to provide special requests. In addition, you are responsible for providing excellent customer service throughout our guest's stay by exceeding their expectations and performing all duties in regard to the operation of the front desk. You will assist guest with check in and out, give general information about the resort, answer the telephone, take reservations, receive customer complaints and find solutions, and demonstrate outstanding customer service. As a Front Desk Supervisor at the Inn at Snowbird, you will: * Oversee overall operation of the Front Desk including supervising approximately five employees including front desk clerks and night auditors. * Plan, direct, organize and control work-time behavior of others. * Make decisions on hiring, retention, promotion, and discipline. Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies and ordering when needed. * Responsible for insuring guest requests are met and resolving guest complaints. * Review room blocking to insure accuracy. Continually monitors tape chart and makes changes as necessary to insure maximum occupancy. * Answer inquiries and solves disputes pertaining to credit billings and payments. * Oversee soft phone reservation bookings as handled by front desk staff. What You Need to Get the Job Done * High School Diploma or equivalent required. * Associates degree in related field. Additional related work experience may be substituted for education. * 2-4 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence. * Hotel receptionist job experience is a plus. * Great listening, speaking, presentation, and upsell skills. * Multitasking is a must. * Strong organizational skills. * 18 years of age. * A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure. Work Schedule * Specific Shift: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. * You must be available to work both shifts based on business needs, including weekends and holidays. * Shifts may vary from early morning to late evening depending on business level. * Year-Round, Full-Time. 5 days a week. Work Conditions * Work is routine in pleasant, comfortable surroundings. Hotel Lodge conditions. * Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures. * May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird. * Must be able to stand for long periods of time. * Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult. * Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird. * Responsible for all cash and other assets contained in the safe. Responsible for the owners keys to the storage closets and reporting necessary equipment repairs. Responsible for all room keys. * May require advanced skills in word or figure processing systems. * Occasional trips to Salt Lake Valley.
