They work together with the other members of the management team to assist in training and certifying all new team members. The job of a Lead Cashier at Maverik is rewarding and a great steppingstone to other positions of responsibility in the store and at Maverik.

What You'll Do as a Lead Cashier

• Engage with the store team and customers to provide excellent customer service
• Assist with the supervision and training of employees
• Provide professional leadership and experienced guidance to others
• Ensure merchandise is available, stocked, and merchandised correctly displaying accurate prices and promotions
• Step in when needed to perform all the duties of a cashier
• Complete general reporting and bookkeeping tasks as required
• Ensure proper and accurate receiving of merchandise including fuel by following all procedures and policies
• As needed, prepare food items and stock food display including self-serve offerings including the fountain machine, condiment counter and coffee dispensers
• Adhere to all city, county, state and federal laws affecting store operations including the sale of tobacco and alcohol products
• Keep the store free of litter and spills and ensure equipment is clean and in working condition
• Ability to meet the physical demands of lifting, bending, carrying, pushing and pulling of items 20-50 lbs.as well as standing of long periods of time
