Job Summary: Implements all water safety policies and procedures;
supervises members and guests in and around the swimming
pool.Duties (not all listed):-- Vacuums pool bottom-- Skims bugs
and other debris from the surface to prepare the pool for daily use
and empties automatic skimmer-- Supervises and observes swimmers at
all times to ensure their safety. -- Administers to minor injuries
such as small cuts and bruises of swimmers. -- Checks first aid
supplies and reports needed items. -- Maintains amenities in and
cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers. -- Assists
in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as
directed by the Swimming Pool Manager. -- Enforces rules of
conduct. -- Places rescue tube and ring buoy on the lifeguard chair
in the mornings and at the end of the day; return these and all
swimming aid and pool toys to the lifeguard locker. -- Straightens
the pool area at the end of the day. -- Maintains all necessary
records determined by the Swimming Pool Manager. -- Attends all
meetings as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager. -- Performs all
other duties assignedPhysical Demands During the season the
intensity of this job is elevated and higher than normal levels of
endurance may be required. While performing the duties of this job,
the employee is regularly required to stand and be on their feet
for extended periods of time. It is necessary to use hands to
perform tasks associated with handling equipment. Talking and
hearing are critical. The employee is required to stand; walk;
climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee
must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.; frequently lift
and/or move up to 50 lbs.; and on occasion lift and/or move up to
75lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
